Rocori Superintendent Accused Of Exposing Himself Several Times At Same Kwik Trip

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A one-time Top Superintendent of the Year is now accused of exposing himself to employees at a Waite Park convenience store.

Rocori Public Schools Superintendent, 56 year-old Scott Staska, was captured on store video exposing himself.

According to police, Staska exposed himself to employees at a convenience store in Waite Park. Investigators believe this is not the first time he's done this.

"We've learned that this started as best we can tell back in early December. Probably four to five incidents, why it wasn't reported to us until just recently we're not really sure," said Waite Park Police Chief Dave Bentrud.

The latest incident happened shortly after midnight Sunday. No customers were inside the store, only an employee witnessed him exposing himself.

Chief Bentrud says one of his officers learned of the incidents after stopping by the store Monday.

"An officer just happened to stop into the store looking to purchase something and one of the clerks said oh by the way we experienced this last night and he started doing an investigation and it led to the discovery of previous incidents and of course this most recent one was captured on video," Bentrud said.

Staska has been superintendent for Roccori schools since 2002. He was recognized as the state's top superintendent in 2010 for his work helping students to safety during a school shooting in 2003.

"We have no indication that this was targeted at children in any way and of course he is in a position where he is around kids and we have no indication that's a concern," Bentrud said.

Bentrud says Staska has no criminal history, but now faces several misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure.

Superintendent Staska was arrested, booked, cited and released from the Stearns county Jail. He is currently on paid administrative leave. The district says it is fully cooperating with the investigation.

Anyone with any additional information is asked to contact the Waite Park Police Department at 320-251-3281. Anonymous tipsters can contact the Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 800-255-1301.
