This Week’s Good Neighbor Business of the Week
July 31 – August 6
WCCO in partnership with the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee will put the Bold North on the map through the WCCO Good Neighbor Business of the Week, celebrating Super Bowl 52 by featuring and telling the story of the top 52 businesses…the best of the Bold North!
Since 1961 the Minnesota Vikings have been a staple of the Minneapolis-St. Paul community, the state of Minnesota and the surrounding Midwest region. In 56 seasons the team has made 28 playoff appearances, played in four Super Bowls and compiled a total record of 476-415-10. While the team’s ultimate goal is to win a Super Bowl for Minnesota, the organization also strives to provide the best possible fan experience and to be a committed community partner with a particular focus on children’s health and education.
The pursuit of these goals has only intensified under the leadership of team owners Zygi and Mark Wilf and the entire Wilf family. With the Wilfs’ guidance, the Vikings have invested significantly in the community through the true public-private partnership that led to the opening of U.S. Bank Stadium. Immediately recognized as one of the top venues in the world, the stadium provides an unmatched fan experience and has resulted in the return of major sporting events to Minnesota and the transformation of the East Town Minneapolis neighborhood.
The investments in both the team and the community have continued with the private construction of the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, the Vikings new 40-acre practice facility and team headquarters located in Eagan, MN. The new home set to open in March 2018 will serve as the anchor of a broader 200-acre development expected to include housing, retail, walking trails, sports medicine and a hotel and conference center.

Zygi Wilf, Vikings Owner/Chairman:
Zygi Wilf enters his 13th season as an owner of the Minnesota Vikings in 2017. The Wilf family has transformed the organization since the onset of purchasing the club in 2005. Zygi and his brother Mark’s continued focus has been on creating a world class organization that can consistently win and sustain success while providing the best fan engagement experiences in the NFL and making a positive impact on the Minneapolis/St. Paul community and the State of Minnesota.
The 2016 season marked the beginning of a new era for the Vikings with the opening of U.S. Bank Stadium. As the largest construction project in state history, the new stadium employed nearly 8,000 construction workers and already has had a significant economic impact on the region, sparking nearly 20 development projects and serving as a multi-use facility capable of hosting more events than any stadium in the country. Under Zygi’s stewardship, the franchise delivered a historic public-private partnership to build the multi-use stadium that will serve as the centerpiece of an economic development package for the state and region and a transformation of East Town. Since passing legislation in 2012 that included a $477 million team/private contribution, the Wilfs have since guaranteed an additional $125 million toward the project as they remain committed to investing in the state’s economy and dedicated to providing a world-class showcase for Minnesota’s sporting future.
