Bucks Wear Down Timberwolves To Improve To 9-7

Larry Sanders had 15 points, seven rebounds and five blocks to help the Milwaukee Bucks to a 103-86 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. Brandon Knight scored 13 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter for the Bucks (9-7), who have won five of their last seven games in a spirited start under new coach Jason Kidd.

Timberwolves’ Martin Has Wrist Surgery, Out 6-8 Weeks

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Tuesday that guard Kevin Martin underwent successful right wrist surgery and will be sidelined about six to eight weeks. Martin suffered the injury during the first quarter of the Timberwolves’ 115-99 win over the New York Knicks last Wednesday.

Thad Young Returns To Wolves After Mom’s Death

Thaddeus Young has returned to the Minnesota Timberwolves following the death of his mother. Young practiced on Monday for the first time since Lulu Hall died of cancer on Nov. 13. Young missed five games while mourning her passing.

Parker’s 28 Helps Spurs Carve Up Wolves 121-92

Tony Parker scored 28 points in 25 minutes and the San Antonio Spurs cruised past the short-handed Minnesota Timberwolves 121-92 on Friday night. Parker made 12 of 18 shots, including all three of his 3-pointers, and Danny Green scored 18 points for the Spurs, who got an easy night with a game against the Brooklyn Nets at home on Saturday.

Wolves’ Martin Out Indefinitely With Broken Wrist

Kevin Martin’s 37-point effort against the New York Knicks on Wednesday night just got even more impressive. Martin played the final three and a half quarters of that game with a fractured wrist on his shooting hand, the Minnesota Timberwolves announced Friday hours before hosting San Antonio. He is out indefinitely.

Rubio Unsure When He’ll Be Back From Ankle Sprain

Ricky Rubio met with reporters for the first time since his injury almost two weeks ago. Rubio suffered a sprained ankle during a game against the Orlando Magic after landing awkwardly on a drive to the basket with 2:28 left in the second quarter. He said he’s not sure when he’ll be able to return to the game.

Martin’s 37 Lift Timberwolves Over Knicks, 115-99

Kevin Martin shook off an illness to score 37 points, and the Minnesota Timberwolves, missing three starters, beat the New York Knicks 115-99 on Wednesday night. Martin tied a career high with seven 3-pointers and Shabazz Muhammad had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Wolves, who were missing Ricky Rubio, Thaddeus Young and Nikola Pekovic.

Pekovic To Miss At Least Next 3 Games With Injury

Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic will miss at least the next three games because of a sprained right wrist. Coach Flip Saunders made the announcement on Tuesday. Pekovic was injured last week against Dallas. He will not play in home games this week against the Knicks, Spurs and Kings. Saunders says Pekovic will be re-evaluated at the start of next week.

Monta Ellis scored a season-high 30 points and the Dallas Mavericks beat Minnesota 131-117 Saturday night, handing the road-weary Timberwolves their fifth straight loss to finish a six-game trek that included a stop in Mexico City.

Jrue Holiday met virtually no resistance as he drove for what looked like an easy layup, but he chose instead to hurl the ball out to the perimeter, where Tyreke Evans drilled a 3-pointer. On New Orleans’ next possession, Holiday attempted a far more contested shot in the paint, rolling it in as he drew the foul.

Former Minnesota Timberwolves all-star Kevin Garnett is telling the world that when he retires from the game he wants to buy the Minnesota Timberwolves. The ‘Big Ticket’ told reporters he wants to put together a group and someday buy the team.
