On Wednesday morning, crews across the Twin Cities were working hard to clear all the snow from the streets after many of them declared snow emergencies. As always, that meant drivers needed to be extra cautious of where they parked, or end up getting towed.
The WCCO Weather Watcher was green, and then the ground was white, but the traffic maps were awash in red Tuesday morning as Twin Cities commuters inched their way to work. And both Minneapolis and St. Paul declared a snow emergency going into effect on Tuesday.

A motorcyclist that swerved to avoid striking a deer in the road was killed in a crash near Black River Falls Tuesday afternoon. The Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene at Oakridge Road about a half-mile north of State Highway 27.
A 79-year-old Brainerd man was killed after the scooter he was driving was involved in a collision with an SUV on Wednesday afternoon. The State Patrol says that James Strowbridge was driving south on Highway 371.
Metro Transit crews are going to test cars by night on their new “green line” light rail transit at the end of the month. The tests will begin along the western half of the University Avenue stretch the week of August 26.
