Motorcyclist Killed After Swerving To Avoid Deer

A motorcyclist that swerved to avoid striking a deer in the road was killed in a crash near Black River Falls Tuesday afternoon. The Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene at Oakridge Road about a half-mile north of State Highway 27.

79-Year-Old Killed In Scooter Vs. SUV Crash

A 79-year-old Brainerd man was killed after the scooter he was driving was involved in a collision with an SUV on Wednesday afternoon. The State Patrol says that James Strowbridge was driving south on Highway 371.

Metro Transit To Test Central Corridor At Night

Metro Transit crews are going to test cars by night on their new “green line” light rail transit at the end of the month. The tests will begin along the western half of the University Avenue stretch the week of August 26.

Several Highway Closures Hamper Weekend Travel

1 Killed In Corvette Rollover In Eden Prairie

At least one person was killed after being ejected from a speeding car in Eden Prairie, Minn. Thursday evening. Authorities said the crash happened at the intersection of Eden Prairie Road and Park Terrace Drive at about 8 p.m.

Man Found Dead Believed To Be Hit-And-Run Victim

Beltrami County sheriff’s officials are seeking the public’s help in finding a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run. The body of 25-year-old Christopher Lee Strong of Bemidji was discovered on a road near Bemidji about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. Sheriff’s investigators say skid marks and vehicle parts were found on the road.

Bachmann, Allies Pitch I-94 Widening To Dayton

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann and other elected officials from along Interstate 94 between Minneapolis and St. Cloud are asking Gov. Mark Dayton to consider making it a higher state priority to widen the freeway by a lane in each direction.

2 Injured In Head-On Crash In Western Wis.

Two people were taken to the hospital after a head-on collision in western Wisconsin on Sunday. According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened on 420th Street west of County Road A in the Township of Maiden Rock.

A student from Buffalo High School was killed in a three-vehicle crash involving a dump truck on Tuesday afternoon in Wright County. Authorities identified the victim as 16-year-old Emma Rodelius, of Maple Lake.

Dad, Son In Hospital After Crash With Alleged Drunk Robbery Suspect

A high-speed chase involving an armed robbery suspect and police resulted in a crash which seriously injured a father and his infant son in Monticello Monday night. Investigators believe the man who caused the crash had also been drinking.

Man Critically Hurt In Dakota County ATV Crash

A 26-year-old man was critically injured after crashing his all-terrain vehicle in Dakota County Thursday afternoon. Isaac James Lucking was traveling east on 180 Street near Goodwin Avenue when he lost control of the ATV.

Demolition began on the Hastings Bridge this Wednesday, as motorists in the Twin Cities bid farewell to “Old Blue.” Crews started tearing down the landmark bridge at 7 a.m. The demolition crews will begin by removing the decking on the downtown side.

Multiple Highway Closures To Downtown Minneapolis

Metro area motorists should get ready for some major delays getting to, or from, downtown Minneapolis this weekend, from any direction. Starting at 10 p.m. Friday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will shut down sections of Interstates 35W and 94 for bridge work and other maintenance.
