Man Pleads Guilty To Knowingly Transmitting HIV

The Minneapolis man accused of passing the HIV virus to others has pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted first-degree assault. Daniel Rick, 33, reached a plea agreement on Monday relating to a 2009 case.

When 2-and-a-half-year-old Jack from Deerwood, Minn. heard it was going to snow almost a foot on April 16, he yelled, “Noooooo!” and slapped his fork on the table. This response went on for a good minute. “The funny thing is I’ve had people 20-, 30-, 40-, 50-years older reacting the same way,” said WCCO Meteorologist Chris Shaffer, who wasn’t all that surprised at the reaction to his forecast. “I just can’t get away with acting like that on television, but he can. It’s cute for him.”

St. Jude Medical 1st-Quarter Profit Rises

Medical-device maker St. Jude Medical’s first-quarter net income rose almost 12 percent, helped by higher sales of its implantable defibrillators and devices that treat a type of irregular heartbeat. The company said four new product approvals in the U.S. will boost sales in the second half of the year and gave guidance within range of analyst expectations.
