WHY DOES DAVID LETTERMAN WHEN COMING ON STAGE, [PAUSE, TURN HIS BACK TO THE SIDE CURTAIN AREA AND FOLD HIS HANDS TOGETHER?
HE HAS DONE THIS FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS NOWAND I WAS WONDERING WHETHER HE WALKED OUT ONE NIGHT WITH HIS FLY OPEN OR SOMETHING.

When David started his late night show way back when, he dressed sloppy, wearing kahkis and blue sport coat almost every night. When he changed time slots and studios he started dressing better and eventually was named “best dressed man” for the year. Since then he’s been doing his catwalk “model turn.” Remember when he would always show the lining of his suit? The running on stage is just a nod to his heart surgery recovery.
It’s because he has disdain and dislike for his audiences, but the money and attention still means too much for him to quit show business. He used to be a lot more rude about it, and flex his butt-cheeks when he turned but has either tired of doing that, or has received enough criticism to tone it down some. When he first started doing it, he had some other things he did to try to look “mysterious”. Germans can’t look myterious, but they can look sinister.
I wonder if he’s got some sort of agreement with their tailor to make one turn to show the style of the back of the suit??? Could be?? Maybe??
I think it’s a signal to his wife that he has remained faithful for another 24 hours.
David Letterman has sworn allegiance to Satan, and when he turns his back to the audience he says a proper prayer to his Lord and Master.
