Very good question! I would rather have my money go to the state instead of the indian reservations since the state is in such debt!! We would be able to fix the roads and have several other projects completed a lot faster.
The FonDuLac Band in Duluth asked the city to provide them with land to have a casino downtown. In return for a % of the profits the city gave them land,provides police and fire protection as well as a variety of city services……..water,gas,sewer.
And location,location,location……..now the tribe wants to keep the site,continue gaming but not share profits with the city. Sounds like the tribe is gutting the golden goose. Perhaps it is time for the state to begin competition with the band run casino monopoly……….looks like greed got the upper hand with the tribe up there.
