I agree with Robin. Can’t believe how dumb some people are. If you can’t fill out a ballot correctly what are you doing voting?

  2. Debbie says:

Why can’t something as simple as a stamper (similar to that used in Bingo games), be used to stamp the choice. Then people wouldn’t be designing their own shapes (ovals, stars, dots, scribbles, etc.) This shouldn’t be rocket science. Has anyone ever thought that some people are elderly and shakey, or may be handicapped and unable to stay within the small oval space….

  3. Timothy says:

Ballot #3 should be thrown out. I did not have a problem with figuring out the intent on the others.

However, I am just amazed that filling out a ballot is so difficult for people. It is not rocket science.

    1. Don_J says:

… no it’s not rocket science, but some people may have a physical difficulty… others you saw had issues with making a decision while at least one person I’m assuming was made and decided to waste their vote.

  4. Greg says:

As an election judge I believe they should make the M100 tabulating machine so it can’t accept overvotes, but if you can’t fill out a ballot the don’t vote. Also if your only purpose is to screw around, remember how much it costs the state to look over your messed up ballots, it does cut into the state aid for other things.

  5. Kris says:

Seriously? How hard is it to fill out a ballot? I know when I went to vote they told me if I make a mistake, to come and get another ballot. Re: #3 that person was just being an idiot.

  6. farmgirl says:

the (m100) counter would have kicked these ballots out as incorrect. the voter should have, if they cared at all about their vote being counted, gotten a new ballot from the ballot judge, and filled it out correctly.

  7. Jasmen says:

I just wonder how come they did not know how to fill out the ballot properly. Did the volunteers not explain this to them or did they just ignore it? They should all be thrown out and all that did those ballots should be taught the proper way to fill out a ballot.

  8. Ray says:

Half a brain would have no problem with a decision on which ballots to keep/toss. When all is said/done, Dayton will be sworn in. Emmer cannot make up the difference…

  9. mary says:

#11 the person meant NA (non applicable!). I’m sure of it!

    1. Kate says:

Or maybe their initials like you would do on a check that you messed up. However, any mark that may indicate who cast the ballot will be automatically thrown out:(

  10. David Conklin says:

I’d like to meet the idiot who contested ballot #2.

  11. Ted says:

If you cannot fill in a circle correctly, too bad! Throw them all out.

  12. Nicole says:

The majority of these are easy to see. The one voted for everyone should be thrown out – not contested. They obviously do not take their right to vote seriously.

  13. John Lampert says:

If people who are supposedly adults do not know how to vote, or to get another ballot if they make a mistake or change their minda, THROW OUT THEIR BALLOTS. THIS IS NON-SENSE AND COSTS ALL OF US WHO PAY TAXES THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.
It is so simple! If ithe ballot is submitted improperly, throw it out!

  14. Mary says:

If the voter really cared about who they voted for after the voting machine had kicked out their ballot, they could have gotten a new ballot to make their vote clear. They didn’t have to hit the override button!

  15. Don_J says:

I say put them in front of a classroom of 3rd graders, they will tell you exactly what they see.

  16. Don_J says:

1st ballot is out, although it could go to Dayton if you try to use logic.
    2nd ballot is clearly Dayton.
3rd ballot is trash, someone wasted their vote.
4th ballot is out, but same as the 1st.
5th ballot is out, but could go to Emmer.
    6th ballot is Dayton.
7th ballot is Dayton. (Really Mr. Emmer?)
    8th ballot is out.
    9th ballot is Dayton.
    10th ballot is Dayton.
11th ballot is out or could be Dayton.
    12th ballot is out.
13th ballot is out or could be for Hakeem.
14th ballot is out or could go to Dayton.

    That’s how I see it.

  17. Krissi says:

I like the person who just colored in all the ovals. You have to wonder how they did on tests we have all taken in school with the bubble answer sheets. Why waste you’re time going to vote if you aren’t going to do it right?

      I voted for Lizard People
