Businesses Welcome End Of ‘No Wake’ On Lake Mtka.

After seven weeks of slow going on Lake Minnetonka, the emergency no-wake restrictions will end at midnight on Thursday. Last month’s heavy rain sent the lake to a record high, but it’s fallen nearly a foot since June 5, when the emergency high-water declaration went into effect.

TargetExpress Opens In Dinkytown

Target unveiled its latest store concept in Minneapolis’ Dinkytown neighborhood Wednesday, and it’s the smallest one yet. TargetExpress, at the corner of SE 5th Street and SE 14th Avenue, is one-sixth the size of a traditional Target, about one-ninth the size of a SuperTarget. It’s focused on essentials that people nearby would want.

Twin Cities Premium Outlet Mall Opening In Eagan

Twin Cities shoppers who want to go to an outlet mall will soon no longer have to leave the seven-county metro to get there. Twin Cities Premium Outlets will open next month in Eagan. The $100 million center is near Highways 13 and Highway 77.

Family Asked To Leave Southwest Flight After Tweet

A Twin Cities man is upset about the way his family was treated on Southwest Airlines flight because of a tweet. Duff Watson says he and his two kids were asked to de-board a flight from Denver to Minneapolis on Sunday after an agent didn’t like a tweet he wrote about her service.

FAA Tells U.S. Airlines Not To Fly To Tel Aviv

The Federal Aviation Administration is telling U.S. airlines they are prohibited from flying to the Tel Aviv airport in Israel after a Hamas rocket exploded nearby. The FAA said in a statement that the ban on flights is for 24 hours beginning at 12:15 p.m. EST on Tuesday.

Recall On Some Fruit Sold At Costco, Trader Joe’s, Sam’s

A Central California company has issued a voluntary nationwide recall of specific lots of its fresh peaches, plums, nectarines and pluots over concerns of possible listeria contamination. Wawona Packing says on its website that no illnesses have been reported and the recall is a precautionary measure.

9 Rainbow Foods Stores In Suburbs Closing Tuesday

This is the last day Twin Cities shoppers can buy groceries at nine Rainbow Foods stores in the metro. The grocery stores closing Tuesday are not part of the 18-store deal Rainbow made in May with a group of buyers.

St. Paul To Consider Sunday Tap Room Sales

Next month, the St. Paul City Council will consider an ordinance allowing Sunday alcohol sales in tap rooms and micro-distilleries. Sunday is the only day the eight licensed tap rooms in the city can’t sell pints of their own beer.

Mpls. Allows Uber, Lyft To Operate, But With Most Taxi Rules

Minneapolis has legalized the operation of transportation network companies like Uber and Lyft, but on the condition they follow many of the same requirements as taxi companies. According to city officials, Minneapolis council members also voted to modernize the city’s taxi ordinances, which have been in place since the early 1980s.
