Local Music Tap: Minne Fest Returns For 2nd Year

Minne Fest is returning for its second year this weekend in Minneapolis. Now, it features two days of music and a new location. The event – hosted by MJG Productions — is meant to promote local music, art, businesses and projects all while raising money for Cancer Kids Fund at Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota.

Lowertown Guitar Festival Returns To St. Paul

The Lowertown Guitar Festival returns to St. Paul next month. The free day of outdoor music will be held Aug. 9 in downtown Mears Park. McNally Smith College of Music is holding the second annual event. Last year’s inaugural festival drew nearly 2,000 people.

Movie Blog: ‘Hellion’ Review 

It’s unfortunate that this film had to go up against Boyhood. That 12-years-in-the-making, coming-of-age colossus is my most anticipated movie of the summer, and it comes out the same weekend as Hellion, which is also a film about growing up. It’s also unfortunate that Hellion is a bit hit-or-miss.
