We’re not quite done with winter just yet, and that means there’s still time to enjoy your favorite winter activities — like snowmobiling. I asked WCCO-TV viewers where the Best Snowmobiling in Minnesota can be found, and they answered. It’s in Crow Wing County.
They took a year off and changed venues, but the Art Shanty Projects opened for the season this past weekend, and it’s just as much fun as it’s ever been (which is to say, quite a lot). There’s a lot to see and do.

Frank Vascellaro and Chris Shaffer are braving the frigid weather and getting out to Minnesota’s lovely, ice-covered lakes every Thursday and Friday until the middle of February. The second stop on this year’s winter lake trip brought the fellas to Hackensack, Minn., a town in Cass County with a population of just over 300. Hackensack is a town with lots to do, and like many of the small towns the guys have been to, you can also find plenty of great places to eat. One of them is Lucette’s Pizza.
When it comes to the most romantic cities in the world, which ones comes to mind? Probably Paris, maybe Venice, perhaps even somewhere like Buenos Aires. How about adding Pig’s Eye to that list? Once we get past ringing in the New Year, we have a few days’ grace period before 2014 really kicks in. Kids may still be home from school, people may still be taking vacation, but once the holiday decorations are put away and the Christmas thank-you notes are dispatched, what’s left to do? Plenty.
