A Minnesota church has just made a big impact in one community. They gave their members a $100 bill and a challenge to help someone in need this holiday season. What started as a typical Sunday service for Quarry Community Church in Monticello sparked a season of giving.
The Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater is celebrating 100 years in operation. The historic building has approximately 20 acres within the walls and has over 60 buildings that house more than 1,600 offenders. “I think over those years we’ve made a lot of great strides and improvements in what we do,” warden Michelle Smith said.
With the start of school just days away, almost every school district in the Twin Cities is facing a school bus driver shortage. First Student, which runs 20 percent of all school buses in the state, said it needs 100 drivers as soon as possible. But before parents panic, First Student said do not worry. The company said children will get to school on time and buses won’t be overcrowded.
