Challenges Of Saying Goodbye To Red Bulls Heading Overseas

Thousands of soldiers from across the state are preparing for a yearlong deployment to Iraq. A total of 2,400 members of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division, known as the Red Bulls, will head overseas in support of Operation New Dawn. Deployment ceremonies are planned over the coming weeks.

One of the largest groups of Minnesota National Guard soldiers were just notified that they will be deployed to Kuwait in May to help with the final drawdown of U.S. forces in Iraq.
