Burnsville police said they’ve recovered evidence that leads them to believe that Anarae Schunk, the University of Minnesota student who’s been missing for a week, may have been the victim of a homicide. Burnsville authorities conducted numerous searches of various locations in connection with trying to locate Schunk, and police have obtained several items of evidence as a result.
A Hopkins teenager who generously — and without anyone watching — went out of his way to help a stranger, is now reaping the rewards of that kindness. Joey Prusak saw a woman steal $20 from a blind customer at the Dairy Queen where he works. So he gave the guy his own cash.

Prusak said while working the register on Sept. 10 he saw the blind man he was helping drop a $20 dollar bill. “The lady behind him picked it up really quickly,” Prusak said. “I had no time to say, ‘Sir, you dropped that.'”
A convicted sex offender from Minnesota was arrested in Fargo after posting on Facebook that he’s engaged to a 14-year-old girl and planned to marry her, authorities said. Tyler Howard Graening, 20, is charged with one count of Class A felony gross sexual imposition, one count of Class C felony failure to register as a sexual offender and one count of corruption of a minor, a Class A misdemeanor, The Forum reports. He has no recent address listed.
Authorities in Chisago County said Tuesday they are looking for a missing man who apparently jumped into the St. Croix River from the Franconia Landing Monday and hasn’t been seen since. The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene Monday on a report that somebody had not come up after jumping in the water.

A St. Paul woman charged in a weekend hit-and-run that killed a college freshman struck the victim twice, according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday, first sending him flying into the air and then hitting him after he landed on the ground.
