A birthday gift for a grandmother is stirring quite the buzz at one downtown Minneapolis coffee shop. A regular customer walked into a Caribou in downtown Minneapolis two weeks ago, and it became a moment Angela Sanders will never forget.

U Of Minn. President To Cut Administrative Costs

University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler says he wants to cut administrative costs by $90 million over the next six years. Kalar told the Board of Regents Friday he wants to cut $15 million a year, starting this year. The money would be used for non-administrative activities and to curb the increased cost of attendance for students.

At 90, Fmr. Gov. Quie Still Riding Horseback, Doling Out Opinions

Former Minnesota Gov. Al Quie will be 90 this year. He served as a Republican Congressman for 20 years, then just one term as governor in 1979, and in his 90th year, Quie is more active than many men half his age. From a horse stable in Victoria, the former Governor not only rides, but trains horses and clears trails.
