Police Seek Suspects In Alexandria Pawn Shop Burglaries

Authorities are asking for the public’s help to find suspects involved in a pair of pawn shop burglaries in Alexandria Tuesday morning. Alexandria Police said two burglaries were reported in the early-morning hours at Viking Pawn on the 400 block of Broadway and Alex Pawn on the 400 block of Nokomis.

3 Elderly People Die In 2 Crashes

Three elderly people have died in two separate traffic crashes in Minnesota. The Minnesota State Patrol says an 89-year-old man and 87-year-old woman died in a head-on crash on Highway 71 near Bemidji Tuesday afternoon. The patrol says the couple’s southbound car was struck by a northbound vehicle. No information was available on the driver of the northbound vehicle.

DPS: 2014 Traffic Deaths Surpass 100

The number of traffic-related deaths this year in Minnesota surpassed 100 this weekend, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. A single-car crash Saturday in Alexandria took the lives of driver Howard Ogaard and passenger Beverly Palmer, who became the 99th and 100th traffic-related deaths of 2014.
