Dayan Viciedo hit a three-run homer and Alejandro De Aza added a two-run shot as the Chicago White Sox topped the Minnesota Twins 8-5 Saturday night. Viciedo’s home run gave him five RBIs in his last two games, equaling his total from July 10 through Aug. 14. Chris Sale (9-11) gave up four consecutive two-out hits in the third inning as the Twins scored three times.
Andrew Albers threw a two-hitter in his second career start and the Minnesota Twins backed him with a pair of home runs to beat the Cleveland Indians 3-0 Monday night. Albers (2-0) allowed just two singles, walked none and struck out two. Brian Dozier and Trevor Plouffe homered to help the Twins win for the eighth time in 11 games.
Andrew Albers allowed four hits while pitching into the ninth inning in his major league debut Tuesday night, easily outdueling Royals ace James Shields and leading the Minnesota Twins to a 7-0 victory over Kansas City. The first big leaguer from Saskatchewan in more than 20 years, Albers at one point retired 15 straight.
