A St. Paul woman plead guilty to animal mistreatment after she was charged with leaving puppies in a dumpster last May. Anna Bertha Robole, 47, plead guilty to one felony charge of animal torture.
A St. Paul woman has been charged with animal cruelty after she allegedly dumped two puppies – one of them dead – into an animal hospital’s recycling dumpster in May. According to the criminal complaint, 47-year-old Anna Bertha Robole is accused of discarding the dogs behind the Scenic Hills Animal Hospital in St. Paul.
A 4-month-old pit bull named Jarvis is on the road to recovery after being abused, then left out in extreme cold. Jarvis made his first public appearance Saturday since being rescued on Jan. 5. He was found outside on the sub-zero night by Minneapolis Animal Care and Control, covered with what appeared to be cigar burns and suffering from a facial infection. With the help of the local group Save-a-Bull Rescue, Jarvis’ wounds were treated and he was taken in to a foster home.
A puppy is being nursed back to health after being abused and abandoned in the cold. Someone found a 4-month-old puppy roaming the streets of Minneapolis during last week’s subzero temperatures. Minneapolis Animal Care and Control picked up the young pit bull. Officer Jacob Young says the dog had cigar wounds all over his body.
Formal charges have been filed against two Pine County women who are accused of the neglect and abuse of more than 100 animals on a farm near Pine City. According to the Pine County Sheriff’s office, Kathleen Mary Doenz, 65, and her mother, 86-year-old Gloria Irene Carlson, were each charged Friday with five felony counts, five gross misdemeanor counts and four misdemeanor counts related to the abuse and neglect of horses, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks and other animals on their property.
A La Crosse woman could face animal cruelty charges after her boyfriend’s dog was found dead. Police say the 32-year-old woman broke into the man’s apartment early Thursday and strangled the basset hound, Jixer, with a choke collar.
The owner of a northern Minnesota breeding operation where more than 130 dogs were seized earlier this month is charged with misdemeanor animal neglect. The Cass County prosecutor’s office said Monday it filed a nine-count criminal complaint against 60-year-old Deborah Rowell. The complaint says when officers executed a search warrant at Rowell’s kennel in Pine River on July 16, they found improper enclosures, inadequate ventilation, improper dog houses and inadequate shade and water.
Police in Canby, Minn. are investigating after a woman allegedly used a hammer to kill her cat. She admitted she killed her cat but denies using a hammer to do it.
