The hearts of Green Bay Packers fans broke this week when they learned receiver Jordy Nelson, a favorite target of MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers, will be sidelined for the year with a “significant right knee injury.”
Minnesota’s Ricky Nolasco left his start in the second inning against Toronto on Sunday with a sore right ankle. The team said Nolasco, who started the day 5-1 with a 5.12 ERA, would undergo an MRI.
The sprained left ankle for quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is not serious, and the Minnesota Vikings are hopeful he’ll play against Green Bay. Coach Mike Zimmer said Monday that Bridgewater was feeling “a lot better” the day after the injury. The rookie had an MRI test after the game on Sunday, and the tests showed no major damage. The Vikings face the Packers on Thursday night.
The boot on Nikola Pekovic’s injured right ankle has been removed. There’s no sign yet of his return to the Minnesota Timberwolves, though.
