A St. Paul man was sentenced Friday to nearly four years in prison for stealing 35 cars in the span of five weeks with a flatbed tow truck. The Anoka County Attorney’s office says James Chester Jennings, 51, was convicted of five counts of auto theft, and he was ordered to pay $73,609 to the victims of his crimes.
A Saint Francis man was formerly charged Friday for taking police on a high-speed chase after an alleged burglary – injuring several people in the process. Randy Thomas Vaught, 34, was charged by the Anoka County Attorney’s office with second-degree burglary and fleeing a police officer.

A Brooklyn Center man is pleading guilty to first-degree criminal sexual conduct after he impersonated a police detective, abducted a woman and sexually assaulted her, according to the criminal complaint. A Minneapolis woman was charged with two counts of arson after setting two fires inside of a Blaine Walmart store early Monday morning in order to cause a diversion while shoplifting.
