State Patrol: Motorcyclist Dead In Crash On I-694 In Fridley

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash early Monday morning on Interstate 694 in Fridley, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Authorities responded to the crash at about 2:31 a.m. on eastbound I-694 at the ramp to East River Road in Fridley.

Northfield Man Killed In Window Fall ID’d

Authorities have identified a Northfield man who died last Friday after falling from a third-floor window in Columbia Heights. Police were called to the 900 block of 46 ½ Ave. NE at about 3 a.m. on July 25 on a report that a man had fallen out of a third floor window.

Minnesota police are investigating a car chase with an armed Minneapolis-area man that ended after a one-hour standoff. The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says officers responded to a report Tuesday that a Coon Rapids man was suicidal and had left his home with a loaded handgun.

Suspect In Brutal Domestic Assault Cuts Own Throat In Front Of Police

Police officers subdued a 22-year-old man who began to cut his own throat after he was suspected of brutally assaulting his girlfriend Saturday. Fridley Police responded to reports of a domestic situation at 6373 Pierce St. NE, and encountered 22-year-old James Ahlers, who began to cut his throat before officers intervened.

Authorities: Runaway East Bethel Teen May Be Endangered

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public help in locating a missing 15-year-old girl who ran away from her East Bethel home last week. On June 16, it was reported that Stephanie Anne Rufsholm voluntarily ran away from her home and hasn’t contacted her family since that day. She was last seen in Forest Lake with other teens.

Home Destroyed, Another Damaged In Oak Grove Fire

Crews are on the scene of a large fire north of the Twin Cities late Thursday morning that is affecting two homes, and there are no immediate reports of injuries. Fire officials were called to the 22000 block of Zion Parkway late Thursday morning and by the time crews arrived, the blaze had spread to a structure to the north.

Lightning is responsible for injuring a woman and starting a house fire in two separate incidents Saturday afternoon in Ham Lake, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities received reports of lightning striking a woman at 2:45 p.m. at Lions Park at 155th Avenue and Central Avenue.

Investigators have identified the body that was found in a compartment of a rented RV on Friday in Winona, Minn. as an Anoka man who’s been missing since last November. According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s office, 22-year-old Kevin Casserly was found by 10 friends who had rented an RV from a man in Anoka.
