Authorities are looking for a suspect after a convenience store was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon in the north Twin Cities metro. Police responded to the Pines Market in Circle Pines at about 3 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a robbery at gunpoint.
It was just around 4 a.m. when the SuperAmerica at 60th Street and Portland Avenue in Minneapolis became the first target. Police say a man, pointed a pistol at the clerk and demanded cash. From there, the robber headed into Uptown and hit a 24-hour Walgreens store.
A woman was robbed of her purse at gunpoint outside of a St. Cloud pharmacy on Christmas evening, according to St. Cloud Police. The robbery took place after 5 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the parking lot of the CVS Pharmacy at 2420 W. Division Street. A 32-year-old St. Cloud woman was approached by a male gunman who demanded her purse. The suspect is described as a white male, 25-30 years of age and between 5’8″-5’9″ with a thin build. He had facial hair, including a goatee, and wore a black hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans.
Officials at the University of Minnesota issued a crime alert Monday after a student was robbed at gun point on Sunday. According to University Police, the student says a man pulled out a gun and demanded their laptop computer at the Carlson School of Management, which is on the West Bank Campus. The student yelled for help and started chasing the robber, who ended up dropping the laptop during the chase.
University of Minnesota students have more than just finals to worry about this week. An armed robbery happened in broad daylight right near campus Wednesday on 14th Avenue Southeast and Sixth Street Southeast in Dinkytown – the latest in a string of robberies at or near the University. Police say a female student was walking to class around 9:30 a.m. when a man approached her, showed her a gun and then took her backpack. Her wallet, iPhone and iPad were all inside.
Another armed robbery has been reported at the University of Minnesota, this time near the University Village. Authorities said the incident occurred around 8:45 a.m. Saturday at the bus stop in front of University Village on University Avenue between 25th Avenue and 26th Avenue SE.
Fargo police are searching for a man accused in an armed robbery at a south side convenience store. The incident happened at about 4 a.m. Thursday at a Stop-N-Go store on University Avenue and 27th Avenue South.
Police are investigating yet another armed robbery of a University of Minnesota student. This time, it happened around 3:40 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of 11th Avenue SE and 8th Street SE.
Police in Shakopee said they’re looking for a suspect after a man was found shot to death inside his home Tuesday night. Authorities were called to the 800 block of Prairie Street at about 7 p.m. Tuesday on a report of an armed robbery.
Maple Grove Police have arrested a man suspected of a month-long armed-robbery spree that mostly targeted fast-food restaurants along the Interstate 94 corridor. According to authorities, Douglas Wayne Gravelle was taken into custody on Thursday. This arrest comes after a string of armed robberies which began in early September. Fast-food restaurants in Sauk Rapids, St. Cloud, Big Lake, Clearwater and Monticello were targeted. A Game Stop video game store in Monticello may also have been robbed by Gravelle earlier this month.
Authorities are looking for a suspect after a man robbed a video game store in Monticello at gunpoint on Saturday. The Wright County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Monticello GameStop just before 10 p.m. Saturday on the 9200 block of Cedar Street.
Police are investigating after a female University of Minnesota student was the victim of an armed robbery late last week. Authorities said the incident happened at about 10:20 p.m. last Thursday near the area of 11th Avenue SE and 7th Street SE, just a few blocks from the U of M campus.
Minneapolis police and Crime Stoppers are asking for the public’s help in solving a June armed robbery, offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information. Authorities said at 10 p.m. on June 23, 2013, an adult female was robbed at gunpoint on the 4200 block of Linden Hills Boulevard. Just 20 minutes afterward, a white female went to the Super America at East Lake Street and purchased $300 worth of gift cards with the victim’s credit card.
A 31-year-old Minneapolis man was sentenced to more than 18 years in prison in Minneapolis Federal Court on Tuesday in the April 2012 armed robbery of the West 7th Pharmacy in St. Paul. Michael Brooks Bynum had been charged with one count of interference with commerce by robbery and one count of possession of a firearm in a crime of violence in connection with the April 3, 2012 incident.
