6 From Minnesota Charged With Trying To Join Islamic State

Authorities in Minnesota have charged six men they say attempted to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State group. A criminal complaint unsealed Monday charges the men with conspiring to provide and attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.

Drunken Zombie Santa Arrested After Invading St. Paul Home

Police have cited a 21-year-old man who they say entered a St. Paul home while drunk and dressed as a Santa Claus zombie. St. Paul police said Monday the University of St. Thomas student was cited for trespassing and taken to a detoxification center Saturday.

Despite Record-Breaking Crowd, Very Few Arrests For Zombie Pub Crawl

The undead took over downtown Minneapolis this past weekend in record numbers. Minneapolis police estimate more than 35,000 people showed up to drink and party at the annual Zombie Pub Crawl. The crowd was so big it broke a Guinness World record for the most people dressed as zombies.

Minnesota State Fair officials say two people are now arrested in connection with the armed robbery where suspects took more than $10,000 from a fair exhibit. The robbery occurred on Friday, Aug. 29 at the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild exhibit at the Agriculture Horticulture Building.

2 Arrested In Derek Boogaard’s Overdose Death

Three years after the death of former Wild tough guy Derek Boogaard, two men are facing charges for allegedly providing him with the drugs that killed him. Boogaard was found dead in May of 2011 inside his brother’s Minneapolis apartment. The medical examiner ruled his death an accidental overdose of prescription pain pills and alcohol.
