A 59-year-old man faces arson charges after allegedly setting a sock on fire in an apartment hallway following a dispute over using the communal drier.

St. Paul Man Charged In Church Arson

A 27-year-old man was charged Monday with two counts of arson in connection with a fire set at a St. Paul church. Gregory Louis Knox, of St. Paul, is accused of starting a fire at Saint Mark Lutheran Church at 550 West 7th Street on the morning of Dec. 12. According to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office, investigators say two fires were set in the church: one in a break room garbage can, and another in the file cabinet in the pastor’s office.

Moorhead Fire Marshal Suspects Arson In Apt. Blaze

A reward is being offered for information about a suspected arson at a Moorhead apartment building Monday morning. Crews responded at 6:30 a.m. to an apartment fire at 2408 3rd Avenue North. No one was hurt, and firefighters were able to quickly put out the blaze.

Weekend Fire In Mpls. Now Believed To Be Arson

Minneapolis fire officials now believe someone intentionally set a weekend fire at an abandoned house. It happened early Sunday morning at 2508 Humboldt Avenue North. The house sustained extensive damage, but there were no injuries.

The St. Paul Fire Chief praised several firefighters Tuesday morning for a job well done over the summer. Chief Tim Butler also presented the department’s highest honor for civilians to a teenager. The Meritorious Service Award is for demonstrating courage in dangerous conditions.

Good Samaritan Rescues Mother, Infant From St. Paul Blaze

A Good Samaritan saved a mother and child from a raging house fire in St. Paul Monday night, and investigators believe it was a clear case of arson. Rick Johann was able to rescue the woman and her 7-month-old infant girl through a window.

A couple out for a walk saved a woman and her baby trapped by a fire in St. Paul, Minn. Monday night. The fire was on the 1200 block of Albemarle Street in St. Paul. Investigators say the cause was arson.

Fire That Damaged Duluth Park Appears Intentional

Duluth fire officials say a fire that caused about $75,000 in damage to a park building and portable toilet appears to have been intentionally set. The fire was reported early Sunday, just after midnight. A caller reported that a portable toilet in Lincoln Park was on fire.

A 23-year-old Farmington man faces arson and theft charges after police say he left an iPod in a truck he burglarized and set on fire. Glenn Adam Smith is charged with one count of arson and one count of theft, stemming from an incident last Wednesday.

Brooklyn Park Police have arrested a woman for arson after initially responding to a reported stabbing. Police were called to the 6300 block of 84th Court North by a man who said a woman in the home had stabbed him.

Minneapolis police are asking the public’s help in finding the person who set fire to a well-used Little Free Library. The Minneapolis Police Department tweeted Wednesday that the arson happened on July 6 at a home on Minnehaha Avenue on the city’s south side.
