Plane Skids Off LaGuardia Runway, Slams Into Fence Near Bay

A plane from Atlanta skidded off a runway at LaGuardia Airport while landing Thursday, crashing through a chain-link fence and coming to rest with its nose perilously close to the edge of an icy bay.

White House Announces Ebola Screenings At 5 Airports, MSP Not Among Them

The White House announced enhanced screenings for Ebola at five U.S. airports Wednesday. Employees of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) will be taking the temperature of all travelers coming from West Africa at airports in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Washington D.C and Atlanta. Anyone with a temperature would then be taken to the quarantine station for further evaluation.

Delta Air Lines officials say a plane headed to Minneapolis returned to Atlanta because its landing gear was stuck in the downward position. Delta spokesman Morgan Durrant says the airline expected to transfer 159 passengers a different aircraft for a second departure from Atlanta on Thursday evening.

Hundreds Ride For Bicyclist Killed By Alleged Drunk Driver

On the cold and snowy landscape of a wintry Saturday afternoon, bicyclists of all ages came to pay their respects. Marcus Nalls, 26, was one of them: a commuter on two wheels who used his bike to get around. Stefan Turner, a bicycle mechanic, had just worked on Nalls’ bike, installing his rack and fenders. “Marcus was one of the … coolest guys we’ve had in our shop in a long time,” Turner said.
