Man Charged With Attempted Murder Of Foster Son

A Benedict, Minn. man has been charged with the attempted murder of his foster son on Tuesday, according to the Hubbard County Attorney’s Office. Dennis James Sullivan was charged Thursday with second-degree attempted murder, and also face first- and third-degree assault charges.

Local Attorney: New Brighton Shootings ‘Borne Out Of Emotion’

Neal Zumberge, 57, is charged with second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder for the May 5 shooting of 46-year-old Todd Stevens and Jennifer Cleven, 48. Twin Cities attorney Bruce Rivers, host of WCCO Radio’s “Open Court,” says the situation escalated after a confrontation with Zumberge’s son, 23-year-old Jacob Zumberge.

Wife Of Man Who Killed New Brighton Neighbor Faces Criminal Charges

The wife of a man accused of killing his neighbor in New Brighton, Minn. now faces criminal charges, according to the Ramsey County Attorney’s office. Paula Zumberge, 50, was charged Thursday with one count of aiding and abetting second-degree murder and one count of aiding and abetting second-degree attempted murder.

Students In Waseca Return To School After Foiled Attack

Students are back in a southeastern Minnesota school after authorities last week foiled a teenager’s suspected plot to attack the school. Counselors were on hand Monday as students returned to the Waseca junior and senior high school building that was the target of the alleged plot. Superintendent Tom Lee says the school is “just trying to get back to normal as quickly as we can.”

Man Charged With Fatally Shooting Girlfriend, Trying To Shoot Her Father

The suspect In the shooting death of a St. Paul woman told authorities that he was hearing voices when he allegedly shot her in the head and then tried to shoot her father Wednesday evening. According to the Ramsey County Attorney’s office, 19-year-old Timothy Scott Hendricks was charged with one count of second-degree murder in the death of his former girlfriend, 20-year-old Michelle Ploetz, and one count of second-degree attempted murder of her father, 45-year-old John Ploetz.

Mankato Murder Suspect ‘Mentally Incompetent’ To Stand Trial

A veteran has been found mentally incompetent to stand trial for a murder and attempted murder in Mankato last June. According to the Blue Earth County Attorney’s office, 25-year-old Levi Spencer Minissale is accused of stabbing 20-year-old Yesenia Gonzalez to death, as well as stabbing a 26-year-old man on the night of June 6, 2013. A court-ordered psychiatrist determined Minissale to be “mentally ill or mentally deficient,” and should be civilly committed as a mentally ill and dangerous individual.

Man Charged In Fatal St. Paul Drive-By Shooting

A St. Paul man is charged with murder and two attempted murders after a gang-related drive-by shooting in front of a bar on St. Paul’s east side. According to the criminal complaint, 31-year-old True Thao allegedly fired a semi-automatic handgun in to a crowd of people standing in front of the Moonshine Bar at 1179 E. Seventh St. on the evening of Oct. 26. Witnesses say Thao, who was driving a dark blue Acura TL, pulled up about 15 to 20 feet away from the bar, rolled down his window and took aim at the group with what appeared to be a Tec-9 with an extended clip. Adlai Xiong, 27, was killed after suffering three gunshot wounds, one of which struck him in the head. Two others, a man and a woman, each suffered three gunshot wounds. Both survived.
