August: Osage County
It’s a big weekend for 2013’s leftovers to reach flyover land, with no less than four Oscar hopefuls making their way into Twin Cities theaters. Here are brief reviews of “Her,” “August: Osage County,” “The Past” and “Lone Survivor.”
The Twin Cities Film Fest kicks off Thursday night with a screening of Alexander Payne’s new movie, “Nebraska.” Bruce Dern stars in “Nebraska” as a grumpy father who thinks he’s won a sweepstakes and takes his son, played by Will Forte, on a road trip to claim the prize.
The lineup for the 2013 Twin Cities Film Fest has just been announced, and it includes more than a couple potential Oscar contenders. The fest will open with a screening of “Nebraska,” the latest from director Alexander Payne.
