Alex Johnson notched two goals and two assists and David Zevnik made 20 saves as second-seeded St. Thomas Academy won its second consecutive Class A boys state hockey title with a 5-1 victory over No. 1 seed Hermantown at Xcel Energy Center on Saturday.
Dan Labosky’s hat trick led Benilde-St. Margaret’s to a 10-1 victory over Lakeville South on Friday night in the Class 2A semifinals.
Peter Krieger’s second-period goal lifted St. Thomas Academy to a 1-0 victory over Breck in the Class 1A state semifinals on Friday.
It’s one of the great state tournaments in the country, and it’s bringing tens of thousands to St. Paul through the weekend. The Minnesota Boys State High School Hockey Tournament is underway at the Xcel Energy Center.
