State Patrol: 1 Dead In Crow Wing County Rollover Crash

A 76-year-old woman died Monday afternoon in a rollover crash just south of Brainerd, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Authorities were called to the accident at about 2:30 p.m. on Highway 25 near milepost 144.

A community is in mourning Saturday after a 14-year-old Eastview hockey player died during a tournament Friday evening. Patrick Schoonover, 14, died around 4:30 p.m. Friday during a hockey game at the Brainerd Area Civic Center where the Blue Ox hockey tournament was being held.

Authorities in Brainerd are asking for the public’s help to find a vulnerable adult who went missing from the area on Sunday. Brainerd Police say 47-year-old Marc Charles Welzant was last seen at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday at a group home in Brainerd.

Man Killed In Rollover Crash In Crow Wing Co.

The Crow Wing Sheriff’s Office says that a 47-year-old man was killed in a rollover crash over the weekend. Authorities were called to County Road 159 about five miles east of Brainerd on Saturday evening after another motorist saw a vehicle rolled over in a ditch.

Boil Water Order Lifted In Brainerd

A boil order has been lifted in Brainerd, which has the largest unchlorinated drinking water system in Minnesota. The city’s utility lifted the water boil order Tuesday night after 40 new tests for bacteria came back negative.

Minnesota playwright Jeffrey Hatcher is taking his one-man show about his childhood experience staging Hamlet on the road this month. “Jeffrey Hatcher’s Hamlet” will travel to seven Minnesota communities. Hatcher was 11 when he adapted, directed and performed in Shakespeare’s drama “Hamlet” for a fifth-grade English class in Steubenville, Ohio.
