State Patrol: 1 Dead In Crow Wing County Motorcycle Crash

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash with an SUV Monday afternoon in Brainerd, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Authorities responded to the accident at about 2:39 p.m. on Highway 210 and 3rd Street.

Minnesotans Get Out On The Water For Fishing Opener

Nearly a half million people are out on Minnesota’s lakes this weekend for the state fishing opener. Governor Dayton was in the Brainerd Lakes area, trying his luck on Gull Lake. The governor was among thousands of Minnesotans who got out on the water at the stroke of midnight.

Minnesota playwright Jeffrey Hatcher is taking his one-man show about his childhood experience staging Hamlet on the road this month. “Jeffrey Hatcher’s Hamlet” will travel to seven Minnesota communities. Prep Blog: Looking Back At The Prep Bowl

even state champions were crowned last weekend as the Minnesota State High School League hosted its final Prep Bowl at the Metrodome. For seven teams, getting to hoist a championship trophy last weekend made the extra weightlifting and work over the summer worth it. Over the course of 13 or 14 weeks, teammates became best friends as they all drove toward a common goal: Getting to the Metrodome for the Prep Bowl and winning it.
