Cheerios Get No Lift From GMO Switch

Plain old Cheerios are no longer made with genetically modified ingredients, but the switch hasn’t yet translated to a boost in sales. General Mills, the company that makes the cereal, in January announced it would start making its plain Cheerios without GMOs, or genetically modified organisms.

Study: Red Meat Raises Diabetes Risk

New research shows that if you have a lot of red meat in your diet it could increase your risk of type-2 diabetes. A study published in the JAMA Internal Medicine says researchers followed more than 100,000 people for four years. People who ate half a serving less of red meat a day reduced their risk of diabetes by 14 percent. But those who added a half serving increased their diabetes risk nearly 50 percent.
