Tommies Blog: St. Thomas Gears Up For Fall Camp

If you head over to Palmer field at O’Shaughnessy Stadium it’s pretty quiet these days. That will all change in a few short weeks as the St. Thomas football team prepares for the start of the fall season. Camp starts in early August for the Tommies, who went 14-1 last season. That one loss prevented St. Thomas from winning its first national championship.

The St. Thomas sideline was all smiles Saturday afternoon once a perfect regular season became a reality. The No. 3-ranked Tommies completed a 10-0 regular season, despite already having the MIAC title won, with a 35-21 win over St. Olaf.

There were a lot of smiles on the sidelines and even a little emotion after the St. Thomas football team beat Concordia (Moorhead) 21-7 Saturday afternoon. The Tommies, with the win and Bethel’s 24-17 loss at St. Olaf, won their third straight MIAC title.
