Driver Facing Charges In Fatal St. Louis Park Pond Crash

A woman driving a car with five children inside when it plunged into a St. Louis park holding pond last November spent Wednesday morning in Hennepin County Court. According to court documents, 23-year-old Marian Guerrido of Brooklyn Center was driving without a valid license at Highways 100 and 7 when she veered and crashed into a pond.

First Responders Talk About Rescuing 5 Kids From St. Louis Park Pond

The sun was not yet up on Thursday morning when the call came into St Louis Park Police Department. Officer Aaron Trant was among those first on the scene. His first reaction was to jump in and try to save the children.

Esme’s Blog: Hidden Waters

Driving south on Highway 100 at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, I heard WCCO-AM’s Steve Murphy reporting on a horrific accident. A car was submerged, people trapped inside. I didn’t hear the location. I remember thinking it was likely somewhere by Lake Minnetonka. Suddenly at St. Louis Park traffic slowed, and I saw an ambulance racing with lights and sirens on in the northbound lane.

Mother Who Crashed Into Pond Didn’t Have License

The State Patrol says 5-year-old Zenavia Rennie died Thursday night. Family attorney Rick Petry says 7-year-old Alarious Coleman-Guerrido also died Thursday night.
