A 47-year-old St. Paul man was charged Friday in Washington County in connection with a Lake Elmo crash that severely injured two young women. Washington County Attorney Pete Orput said Jon Ross Wentz faces eight felonies of criminal vehicular operation causing great bodily harm involving negligence, blood alcohol and controlled substances in his system.

Police are investigating after a car hit and killed a 79-year-old pedestrian Friday night in front of the St. Croix Casino in Wisconsin. According to the Turtle Lake Police Department, Donald P. Hatalla, of Turtle Lake, died on the scene after a truck driven by 74-year-old Kenneth L. Bonner of Alemna hit him at about 10:16 p.m. Friday.
