Part of the magic of the State Fair is bringing farm life to the city. On Sunday, some city folk got to pretend they were “down on the farm” at a cow impression contest.
The gates to the Minnesota State Fair open every morning at 6 a.m., but competition for the agricultural kids is already well underway. It takes a lot of prep work to get into the ring. The work really never stops, it actually goes all night long.
From deep-fried food to riveting rides and cattle contests to awe-inspiring art — the State Fair is part of Minnesota’s homegrown heritage and it’s chock-full of nostalgia and traditions of a time passed.
