Police have two people in custody Friday after a late-night chase that went from Minneapolis into St. Paul. According to police, around 10 p.m. Thursday officers received information that a wanted felon, who was possibly armed, was driving near 25th Avenue North and Newton Avenue.

Rescue crews recovered the body of a teenager from a Carver County lake late Friday evening. The sheriff’s office received a report at about 7:30 p.m. that a teen swimming in Eagle Lake near Baylor Regional Park went underwater and never resurfaced.
St. Paul Police welcomed the first Somali female officer to the department on Saturday. Kadra Mohamed joined the department as part of its community liaison program. Kenyan-born Mohamed graduated from Central High School in 2010. She will graduate from St. Cloud State with a criminal justice degree in May, but she got her badge Saturday and spoke some words of wisdom to future recruits.

Students at a St. Paul summer school program were dismissed Wednesday after a small fire at Central High School.
