Chain of Lakes
The city of Minneapolis says the city council has authorized a lawsuit against the owner of a luxury apartment building that is accused of discharging groundwater into the Chain of Lakes, affecting both the environment and public safety.
It’s a smell that comes with warmer temperatures and increased algae in the water. It’s also something you can see: dead fish floating on all the lakes in Minnesota. The experts call it a “fish kill,” and it has many wondering is the water safe. Dawn Summers of Minneapolis Park and Recreation says that this is a common occurrence.
This year’s wimpy winter is now having an impact on a big Minneapolis event — the City of Lakes Loppet, which will take place next weekend.
