Ryan O’Reilly scored twice, including the game-winner with 7:16 to play, and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Minnesota Wild 4-2 Saturday night. Gabriel Landeskog and Maxime Talbot also scored for the Avalanche, winners in five of seven. O’Reilly had his first two-goal game of the season.

Jason Pominville and Charlie Coyle scored 57 seconds apart early in the third period to break open a defensive standoff and lift the Minnesota Wild to a 2-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday night. The teams had combined for only 28 shots when Pominville collected Mikko Koivu’s pass in the crease and pushed it past a helpless Ray Emery 3:52 into the third period. On the ensuing shift, Coyle tapped a rebound off Jared Spurgeon’s slap shot into an empty corner at 4:49.
Charlie Coyle scored in the fourth round of the shootout to give the Minnesota Wild a 3-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday. Coyle deked before beating Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec. Minnesota is 15-5-4 and has won six of its past seven games and is 9-1-1 in November. The loss extended Winnipeg’s losing streak to four games (0-2-2). It was the Jets’ eighth shootout of the season and third loss. Mikko Koivu also scored on Pavelec in the shootout. Bryan Little beat Niklas Backstrom.
Charlie Coyle put Minnesota ahead with 8:22 remaining after Florida scored twice in the third period to tie it, and the Wild hung on to beat the Panthers 3-2 on Friday night for their sixth win in seven games.
Minnesota Wild center Charlie Coyle will miss three to four weeks with a sprained knee. The Wild announced the timetable for Coyle’s recovery on Sunday night. The second-year player was hurt Saturday night in the team’s overtime loss to Anaheim. Left wing Jason Zucker was recalled from Iowa of the AHL to take Coyle’s place. Zucker played in 20 games last season. Both Coyle and Zucker are 21, part of the Wild’s promising young core. Coyle was centering the second line, between Dany Heatley and Nino Niederreiter.
Jason Pominville scored the only goal of the shootout to lift the Minnesota Wild to a 4-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night. Minnesota took a 2-0 lead into the locker room after 20 minutes on goals Carson McMillan and Charlie Coyle. New Wild defenseman Keith Ballard assisted on both. Winnipeg (1-2-2) stormed back with second-period goals by Eric O’Dell, Patrice Cormier and Paul Postma. Minnesota defenseman Ryan Suter forged a 3-3 tie in the third period, scoring off a feed from Zach Parise.
