The 2013 NFL Draft will take place this week, so let’s take a look at which holes each team in the NFC North needs to fill to have a successful draft.
The Minnesota Vikings had a disappointing finish to an encouraging season. Jared Allen will undergo surgery on his shoulder after the Pro Bowl later this month. The Vikings now begin preparation for the draft in April and evaluating its 14 free agents.
The Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers go at it for third and final time this season Saturday at Lambeau Field. After splitting their two regular season matchups, the rubber match comes in the NFC wild card playoff round.
The Minnesota Vikings believe they will have Antoine Winfield available for Saturday’s game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. However, the swelling in his hand could be the determining factor. The Vikings appear to have everyone except linebacker Tyrone McKenzie available for the game.
The Minnesota Vikings had a very successful month of December. They finished the month with a 4-1 record that propelled the team into the playoffs as the No. 6 seed. Adrian Peterson, Everson Griffen and Blair Walsh led the way for the Vikings.
The Minnesota Vikings list Brian Robison and Antoine Winfield as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers. However, neither is expected to miss the game. Robison missed the win over the Houston Texans with a shoulder sprain and Winfield suffered a fractured hand in that game.
The Minnesota Vikings have one game to make the playoffs. The final hurdle to clinching the sixth spot in the postseason is a home game against the Green Bay Packers. Adrian Peterson needs to rush for 208 yards to break the single season rushing mark against the team that he ran for 210 yards against a few weeks ago.
Josh Robinson is becoming one of the mainstays in the Vikings secondary. The team knows that veteran leader Antoine Winfield is nearing the end of his career. Robinson’s play has given the team assurance that it will be fine when Winfield decides to hang up the cleats.
The Minnesota Vikings did not have Brian Robison in practice Wednesday or Thursday, but the starting defensive end returned as a limited participant Friday. He did some work with the defense’s first unit and could play Sunday. His replacement, Everson Griffen, is also banged up, but is not in danger of missing the game.
The Minnesota Vikings can greatly improve their chances of making the playoffs by beating the Houston Texans on Sunday and the Green Bay Packers in Week 17. It still needs some help to claim the final spot in the postseason, but the easiest way to make it is by winning.
The Minnesota Vikings enter its Week 15 contest against the St. Louis Rams with a long list of probable injured players on the injury report. While almost all of them are expected to play, Chris Cook remains on schedule to return in Week 16. Antoine Winfield was the only player listed with 50/50 chance of playing or worse.
The Minnesota Vikings are one game behind the two wild card teams by one game in the standings. It plays the team right behind it in the standings Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome. The St. Louis Rams have won three straight, including two on the road.
The Minnesota Vikings are in the thick of the playoff chase and their head coach believes they have the formula to win championships. Punter Chris Kluwe was fined for a uniform infraction. Chris Cook is on track to return from a broken arm in Week 16. The Vikings replaced wide receiver Percy Harvin on the 53-man roster with offensive tackle Troy Kropog. Minnesota signed tight end LaMark Brown to the practice squad to take Kropog’s spot.
The Minnesota Vikings have plenty of things to be excited about. The team is in the playoff chase. Adrian Peterson is chasing the rushing record and the MVP award. Harrison Smith is making his case to be the Defensive Rookie of the Year. The offensive line has been the most improved unit on the team. There have also been negatives as well.
Harrison Smith is becoming one of the most complete safeties in the NFL. There are very few that can hit as hard as him while possessing the ball skills to turn errant throws into turnovers. He is making it scarier to play against the Vikings defense.
