Charges: Montevideo Man Left Child In Car To Drink At Bar

A 27-year-old Montevideo man is accused of drinking at a bar earlier this month while leaving a small child inside a vehicle sleeping with the car running, according to police. Montevideo police said Christopher Jasperson was charged with child endangerment in connection with the case.

Police: Lakeville Man Faces Drunk Driving Charges After Rear-Ending Truck

A Lakeville man has been charged with driving while impaired after he allegedly rear-ended a truck last summer. Jesse Curtis Huber, 36, has been charged with one count of child endangerment and two counts of second-degree impaired driving.

3 Kids In Home During Lonsdale Drug Bust

Three people are in jail and three children are in protective custody after a drug bust Thursday in Lonsdale. The Rice County Sheriff’s Office says agents from the Cannon River Drug and Violent Offender Task Force executed a no-knock search warrant at 11:25 a.m. at a residence — where drugs, firearms and stolen property were suspected to be.

Man Who Allegedly Police On High-Speed Boat Chase Charged

A Twin Cities father accused of leading police on a boat chase with a baby in tow has been charged Monday. Thirty-three-year-old Ryan Krueger, of Mound, was charged with one count each of fleeing a police officer, terroristic threats or reckless disregard, child endangerment and operating a motorboat under the influence of alcohol. According to authorities, around 8:30 p.m. on the Fourth of July, Krueger led police on a high-speed boat chase on Lake Minnetonka.

Charges: Man Drunk While Mud-Covered Kids Played Alone In Hotel Parking Lot

A Farmington man has been charged after three young children he was taking care of were found playing alone in a hotel parking lot, covered in mud, according to the Dakota County Attorney’s Office. Benjamin Edward Barsness, 31, faces gross misdemeanor charges of child neglect and child endangerment in connection to the May 24, 2014 incident.

A new survey from Public Opinion Strategies of Washington, D.C. reveals that 14 percent of parents say they’ve left their children alone in a car. For parents of children under three years old, that percentage jumps to 23 percent. The study also found fathers are three times more likely (23 percent) than mothers (8 percent) to leave kids in cars.

NJ ‘Tanning Mom’ Sent To MN Detox Facility

A New Jersey woman widely known as “the tanning mom” was sent to a temporary detox facility after allegedly being intoxicated at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Metropolitan Airports Commission spokesman Patrick Hogan says airport police were called to the Delta ticket counter Thursday because of an intoxicated woman. Hogan says Patricia Krentcil wasn’t arrested but was taken to a detox facility to sober up. He didn’t know if or when she had been released. She couldn’t be reached at her home number Saturday.

St. Paul Priest Removed For Alleged Misconduct With Minor

A St. Paul priest has been dismissed from his St. Paul parish after allegations that he engaged in misconduct involving a minor. According to Jim Accurso, media and external relations manager for the St. Paul and Minneapolis Archdiocese, Reverend Curtis Wehmeyer was removed by Archbishop John Nienstedt after learning of allegations of misconduct. Wehmeyer was the pastor of Blessed Sacrament parish in east St. Paul.
