The Adrian Peterson child abuse case is not the first time a Viking player has been in trouble. But how the Vikings are handling this case is a bit different. Vikings players have been arrested 45 times since 2000 for crimes ranging from assault, to drunk driving, to disorderly conduct.

Adrian Peterson Hopes To Play In The Vikings Finale At Mall Of America Field

Reigning MVP Adrian Peterson expects to play in the final game ever at Mall of America Sunday against the Detroit Lions. The running back played in the Minnesota Vikings loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, but lasted just one offensive play into the second half. His backup, Toby Gerhart, is unlikely to play and cornerback Xavier Rhodes could return after missing two weeks. The Vikings had four players list as non-participants, seven as limited participants and four as full participants in Thursday’s practice.

Minnesota Vikings Blown Out By The Cincinnati Bengals

The Minnesota Vikings were a minor inconvenience for the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium. Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton tossed four touchdowns to lead the Bengals to a 42-14 victory. Dalton threw just 11 incompletions and was sacked twice to build a 136.5 quarterback rating. Cordarrelle Patterson was the lone bright spot for the Vikings with a 35.8 yard kick return average, 54 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Vikings S Harrison Smith Returns After Missing Eight Games

Harrison Smith missed eight games, but looked good in his return against the Philadelphia Eagles. The expectation was for him to be eased back into game shape. However, he played more snaps that any other Vikings safety. Chris Cook missed Sunday’s game against the Eagles with a knee injury.

CB Cook Fined $26,250 For Contact With Official

Minnesota Vikings cornerback Chris Cook has been fined $26,250 for contact with an official, per NFL guidelines. Cook told reporters Wednesday his agent has filed an appeal with the league. He said he realizes he has to keep his composure in those situations and added a “guarantee it will not happen again.”

The Minnesota Vikings seemingly defeated the Chicago Bears, then had a chance to lose and finally won on a 34-yard field goal by Blair Walsh. Adrian Peterson ran for 211 yards to help the Vikings get the 23-20 victory Sunday at Mall of America Field.

Minnesota Vikings cornerback Chris Cook has been ejected against Chicago for making contact with an official. Cook was in coverage on Alshon Jeffery when the Bears wide receiver jumped over Cook for a 46-yard touchdown pass at the front corner of the end zone.

Minnesota Vikings Release Jefferson, Further Thinning The Defensive Backfield

The Minnesota Vikings released A.J. Jefferson hours after he was arrested for a domestic assault claim. The Vikings are now down three healthy cornerbacks on their roster with one on their practice squad. Audie Cole made his start on Sunday and was impressive. He is likely to remain in the starting lineup. The Vikings filled their open roster spot by claiming offensive tackle Mike Remmers off waivers from the San Diego Chargers.

Uninspired And Effortless Vikings Lose To Carolina

The Minnesota Vikings showed very little effort in a blow out loss to the Carolina Panthers. The offense failed to move the ball as efficiently as it did in its previous game. Matt Cassel was unable to maintain the spark he had in London. The defense was shredded from beginning to end. The special teams units barely got a chance to show anything.

Harrison Smith is likely going to get the fine of his young career following an unnecessary roughness penalty for a helmet-to-helmet hit in the Minnesota Vikings victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. While the safety is prepared for the fine, he is not sure it is right. Blair Walsh set the Vikings career record for 50-plus-yard field goals.
