All three champions from last year have returned to the Minnesota state high school baseball tournament to defend their titles. BOLD in Class 1A, Kasson-Mantorville in Class 2A and Mounds View in Class 3A each qualified again this season. The tournament begins Thursday, with Class 1A games in Chaska and Jordan, Class 2A games in St. Cloud and Class 3A games in St. Paul and Minneapolis.
Marcellous Hazzard led Minnehaha Academy with 14 points and John Pryor added 12 as the Redhawks beat Litchfield 56-54 on Saturday for their first Class 2A state title.
Rebekka and Hannah Dahlman are catching up to their brothers. Rebekka scored 23 points and Hannah grabbed six rebounds to lead Braham past Minnehaha Academy 68-61 for the Bombers’ first Class 2A girls’ basketball state championship.
