After 9 Months, Uptown’s Boneyard Is Closing

Boneyard, a southern-style restaurant that opened in Uptown just last spring, is soon closing its doors for good. According to a post on its Facebook page, the restaurant’s final day will be Dec. 24. That’s when renovations will begin to transform the space, on 2841 Hennepin Ave. South, into a third Salsa A La Salsa location.

A Lake Street landmark is getting ready to close its doors — much to the disappointment of its loyal customers. Roberts Shoe Store and its iconic green and white sign has been a staple on corner of Lake Street and Chicago Avenue for 77 years. More than 2 million pairs of shoes have been sold during that time.

Golf Courses Around The Metro Close As Participation Declines

The Theodore Wirth Golf Course in Minneapolis opened in 1916. It’s one of the oldest golf courses west of the Mississippi River.Keller Golf Course in Maplewood, Minn. was a regular stop on the PGA Tour from the 1930s through the ’60s and hosted two PGA Championships. “That’s one of the things that make this place so special, is all the history,” Paul Diegnau, Keller’s superintendent, said.

Highway 13 In Mendota Closes In Both Directions

Motorists are being advised to seek alternate routes while Highway 13 in Mendota closes for emergency repairs Tuesday. The highway will be closed at 11 a.m. both ways between 2nd Street and Lexington Avenue. The closure is necessary so crews can repair a slope that was damaged during the recent rain.
