Connecticut Wins NCAA Title, 60-54 Over Kentucky

Shabazz Napier scored 22 points and Connecticut won its second NCAA title in four years, beating all those Kentucky freshmen 60-54 in the championship game Monday night.

2 Carleton Students Killed In Crash Laid To Rest Saturday

Two Carleton College students killed in a car crash last week were laid to rest Saturday. The fatal accident happened on an icy Highway 3 in Northfield last Friday. Three students died and two others were injured when their SUV slid into the path of an on-coming semi truck. The funeral for James Adams was held Saturday morning at House of Hope Presbyterian Church in St. Paul.

Saturday marks the one-year anniversary of the horrific shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown Conn. Twenty children and 6 adults were killed. Paul Hagan of Minneapolis lost his niece and told WCCO’s Dave Lee today the family is still recovering.

Woman Sentenced For Bringing Loaded Gun To Mpls School

A 59-year-old woman who worked as an assistant in a city kindergarten classroom was sentenced last week to serve five days of community service, a year of probation and to pay a $200 fine for bringing a loaded Ruger .357 to school.
