Dakota County Hosts Basketball Benefit For Fallen Police Officers

Families of fallen police officers will benefit from a basketball tournament in Dakota County Saturday. This year the family of St. Paul Officer Josh Lynaugh is benefiting from the game. According to the Pioneer Press, Lynaugh suffered a heart attack in early February after an on-duty-foot chase.

Blue Light Ceremony Honors Fallen Officers

An emotional ceremony to honor Minnesota’s fallen officers and their loved ones was held in St. Paul Saturday night. Family members of officers killed in the line of duty gathered at the Peace Officers Memorial near the State Capitol for the Blue Light Ceremony. They each carried a blue-tipped white rose, a symbol of loss and sacrifice. They are parents, wives, children and loved ones who come to honor the ones they lost too soon.

Cop Cameras Could Cut Back On Complaints, ‘Use Of Force’

Some Minneapolis city leaders believe fitting police officers with cameras on their uniforms can save the city money and protect officers from frivolous complaints. On Thursday, council members Betsy Hodges, Gary Schiff and Cam Gordon showed the body cameras to members of the media.

Mpls Bicycle Police Give Children Two-Wheeled Gifts

After some Minneapolis bicycle police officers stopped to help a woman fix her car, the cops noticed her children didn’t have many toys, including bikes. After using some private funds put aside for bike safety, the officers brought five new bikes the children on Tuesday.

Waukesha Police: Man Bites Another Man’s Ear Off

Waukesha police say a 24-year-old man bit off the ear of a 47-year-old man. Police Sgt. David Wanner says the suspect has been arrested on suspicion of mayhem. He says the attack happened Friday afternoon, and that the two men were not related.
