Thousands of country music fans helped set a new attendance record at Target Field. Almost 85,000 people went to see Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean on Saturday and Sunday.
Police say hundreds of people were ejected from Lambeau Field during a concert featuring country music star Kenny Chesney. Press-Gazette Media reports between 250 and 300 people were kicked out of Saturday’s concert.
Doubling country fans’ pleasure and doubling their fun was what led to next summer’s double bill, and now Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean are adding a second show. The two country music superstars previously announced they would be performing a show at Target Field next summer.
With his signature black hat and his sentimental lyrics, Garth Brooks is bringing country back to an audience that loves him. Sandy Jung doesn’t have concert tickets yet, but she’s got some fancy cowgirl boots and a western belt with bling from Minneapolis’ Schatzlein Saddle Shop on Lake Street. “I think the fact that he’s coming back and it’s like a renewing of his kind of old style and bringing it back into current is really fun,” Jung said.
After 16 years away, Minnesota country music fans are finally getting the chance to see an icon. Starting Thursday night, Garth Brooks will play the first of 11 shows at Target Center. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
