A 63-year-old Shafer man is dead after a snowmobile accident Saturday, according to the Chisago County Sheriff’s office. The fatal accident happened late Saturday morning at a residence in Franconia Township. According to a witness, Dennis Holt was moving a snowmobile that he was not familiar with, which had a left-handed throttle.

A 7-year-old boy is being treated at an area hospital after he was found unconscious in Wirth Lake Friday afternoon, according to Minneapolis Police. Keylen Rashan Thorton was initially reported missing by his grandmother at 2 p.m. Lifeguards cleared the lake and searched for Keylen, who was found in a swimming area that is four to six feet deep. Lifeguards performed CPR on him and were able to detect a pulse. He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
