Cross Country Skiing
It’s been a little warmer this past week, but there’s still lots of snow left. And I wanted to make the most of it, so I sent him in search of the best cross-country ski trails in Minnesota.
The start of the winter Olympics in Sochi is just days away. The opening ceremony is set for Thursday, and about 19 Minnesotans will be part of Team USA.
Former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak is taking to the internet to say “thank you,” and share he’s healthier than he has been in years. Rybak suffered a heart attack two weeks ago after cross-country skiing. In his RyBlog, he joked he has no permanent damage, unless you count the shirt they cut off of him.
Former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak successfully underwent a procedure Monday afternoon to remove a blockage from an artery. He’s recovering from a life-threatening heart attack which he suffered Saturday after cross-country skiing for nearly eight miles. Before Monday’s procedure, the former mayor continued his light-hearted banter on Twitter, posting a picture of himself in a hospital gown, framed as a GQ magazine cover.
Former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak is recovering in the hospital Saturday afternoon after suffering chest pains while cross-country skiing. According to officials at Abbot Northwestern Hospital, Rybak had completed 7.7 miles of skiing at Theodore Wirth Park with his wife before complaining of chest pains and shortness of breath. The former mayor was taken by ambulance to Abbot at 1 p.m., where he underwent an angioplasty and received two stents. Officials say he is currently resting. Rybak was upbeat when he tweeted two and a half hours after being admitted.

Monday’s snow just makes the streets, yards and everywhere else that much harder to deal with — creating a pile of pain for some Minnesota cities. However, there are businesses that do not have mutual feelings.
