Crystal Police Seeking Stabbing Suspect

Authorities in the north metro are looking for a suspect after a report of a stabbing early Monday morning. The Crystal Police Department says it’s looking for Fidel Delivillar Torres. Police say he’s a suspect in a stabbing that happened at around 4:30 a.m. on the 6700 block of Corvalis Avenue.

Man Takes Metro Police On 30-Min., Multi-City Chase

A man suspected of driving under the influence took police on a half-hour, multi-city chase early Saturday morning, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy attempted to pull over a 26-year-old driver at about 3 a.m. near Interstate 94 and Hemlock Lane in Maple Grove.

Fire Destroys Home In Crystal

Four people were able to escape without injury after a house caught fire in Crystal Saturday morning. The fire happened just after 8 a.m. on Twin Lake Terrace. Fire crews said it appeared the fire started in the garage before spreading to the attached home.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with one of the robberies near the University of Minnesota campus. Myron Jovan Richardson-Rivers, of Crystal, is a suspect in a robbery last month. He’s currently behind held at the Hennepin County Jail.

2 Men Charged In New Hope Shooting Death

Two men were charged with first-degree murder in the killing of a Fridley man as he sat in his car in a New Hope parking lot back in June. Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said Friday that 29-year-old Damin Lee Shufford, of New Hope, and 20-year-old Adaiah Deontraie Townsend, of Crystal, were charged in the June 26 shooting death of 59-year-old Kent Lee Walker, Jr.

Car Refurbisher Charged With Stealing $128K From Customers, Investor

A Crystal man was charged Friday with one felony count of aggravated theft by swindle after stealing nearly $128,000 for several people in a car refurbishing scheme first investigated by WCCO in 2011. According to the Hennepin County Attorney’s office, 24-year-old Zachary Maxwell Moore stole $127,839 from 33 people over two years, several of whom originally paid his company, Civics Reborn, to refurbish old Honda Civics. Defendants claim that Moore was initially attentive with customers until after they paid for the car and refurbishments in full, then he became almost impossible to contact. He also moved his company’s location six times, failing to pay full rent to each landlord before relocating.

Police: Hopkins Cheerleader Used Teammate As A Prostitute

An 18-year-old Hopkins High School senior cheerleader allegedly used her sophomore teammate as a prostitute, according to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County. Montia Marie Parker, 18, of Maple Grove was arrested on one count of second-degree felony sex trafficking, and one count of felony solicitation, inducement and promotion of prostitution.
