Dakota County Fair
The woman injured Wednesday when a bull got loose at a county fair is now in satisfactory condition.
Authorities say eight people were hurt, one woman seriously and a sheriff’s deputy, after a bull got loose at the Dakota County Fair Wednesday night. The incident happened shortly after 8 p.m. in Farmington, according to the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office.
Just south of the Twin Cities, the Dakota County Fair will get started Monday afternoon in Farmington. It will feature all the customary county fair features, including rides for the kids, great food and games.
Government health leaders have a message for people planning to visit a county or state fair: be careful if you pet the pigs. The Centers for Disease Control says it’s seeing a big jump in swine flu cases. Most are in children who’ve recently been to a fair.
