This week’s Excellent Educator traveled the country perfecting her trade before entering her Rosemount classroom. We go into the kitchen to see how that experience helped Patty LaBeau teach others culinary arts.
Car crashes are a leading cause of death for teenagers across the country, which is why one group is working to help keep them alive behind the wheel. The Tire Rack Street Survival program was held Saturday at Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount. The program was created to improve driver competence through hands-on experience. Students learn how to manage driving hazards, obstacles and challenges on an advanced driving course.
If we made a list of traditional female occupations, robotics might not be at the top. But at this workshop hosted by Dakota County Technical College, girls grades 5th through 8th are exposed to career fields that are traditionally thought of as male-oriented.
The Nike All-Star Basketball Tournament is really something, and it’s taking place in Eagan this weekend.
Small town atmosphere just south of the metro is what you’ll find in Rosemount. Being nearly 36 square miles, the city is home to industry, growing residential areas and even agriculture. While it’s large in mass, you still get a small town feel down the city’s main strip and in the city’s many parks. There are unique, locally-owned shops to infuse your creative juices or to give you a caffeinated pick-me-up with a delicious bakery treat on the side. There are also plenty of places to get active, inside and out.
